Our first TLP Faculty Working Group held a two day conference organized by Ph.D. student Marcel Salas, with Professors Cristina Beltrán, Cecilia Marquez, Urayoán Noel, and Arlene Dávila. Scholars from all over the country attended to present on key topics in the field of digital studies.

The Latinx Media Observatory Working Group provides a glance of the state of Latinx representation in U.S. Film, Television and SVOD platforms. Led by Arlene Dávila, Juan Piñón, and Ramón Resendiz, this group will conduct an inventory of content produced across different media modalities in the last two decades while initiating conversations about media industrial strategies of representation and their results.
The Ideologies of "Good" Languaging Working Group is organized and led by Drs. Maria Rosa Brea and Erica Saldivar-Garcia. This interdisciplinary affinity group brings together faculty and doctoral students across the departments of Communicative Sciences and Disorders and Teaching and Learning to co-create spaces of inquiry, collaborative learning, and community centered transformation.
