Chloe Piñero is a Philadelphia based artist and educator who works in mixed media, digital collage, and found materials. Her process relies on intuition and is guided by memory and everyday encounters. Piñero’s work is influenced by growing up in Philadelphia’s changing landscape and hearing stories told by family about their histories in both Philadelphia and Puerto Rico. These stories, deeply connected to objects and places, have driven her interest in collecting and documenting her own narratives. Sourcing digital images speaking on gaze and femininity, Chloe confronts sexuality in her work. Through the process of collage both digital and with found objects, Chloe fabricates environments where themes of queerness, desire, and sexuality overlap with the mundane and routine.
