About the Work
Touch Receptors is an ongoing series of abstract drawings that began in 2013 and through which I associated marks and mark-making with sensory nerve endings found in our skin and tactile sensations sent to our brains. After a three-year break, the series resumed in 2020 at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, the drawings have also explored concepts of disruption and collapse as well as mapping and dislocation, subjects I explore in other mediums, including video, installations, and site-specific works.
